Annie & Duncan
in a show in
New York on October 11th 2008
|
Where Are They Now:
Annie, one of Sarah's first students here on Whidbey Island
has moved to Chestnut Ridge which is a village in the town
of Ramapo in Rockland County, NY. Annie's new barn is Ramapo
Equestrian Center where she is training with Denielle Gallagher
and Bertrand LeGriffon. In addition, she has now become the
proud owner of Duncan van de Dwerse Hagen from Belgium. Duncan
is a Hanoverian - Holsteiner cross registered as a Belgian
Warmblood.
Annie wrote to us recently and told us that she'll be driving
to Florida on January 2nd with her trainer. She'll be down
there for 3 months while her trainer is trying to qualify
for the Olympic games in 2010! Annie will be working as her
groom. She will muck their horses stalls, feed them, water
them, turn them out and tack up for her trainer and one of
her trainers clients. Annie will have five horses to care
for including her own.. She will also be showing with Duncan
as much as she can. Annie says "I can't believe this
is happening! It's like a dream come true!!"
Annie was in a show in New York on October 11th. Here's what
Annie had to say about it... "The show on saturday went
very well! He (Duncan) was such a good boy. We placed 2nd
in all 3 of our classes and were reserve champion. We can
do the courses really fast right now cause Duncan has the
power. but when it comes to the technical aspect such as the
turns we don't quite have it yet.... but they will come. the
person that won the class was on this super nice stud who
could turn on a dime. He looked like he'd been doing it for
a looong time too."
We are all very happy and excited for Annie and how far she
has come on her journey!
